National Federation of Republican Women 124 North Alfred Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 207-548-9688 / FAX 703-548-9836 Web site: www.nfrw.org / E-mail: mail@nfrw.org
The National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) was organized in September 1938 by convention in Chicago, with 13 state-wide federations holding membership and 12 states represented by local groups. In 1954, 43 states with Alaska, Hawaii and the District of Columbia were represented in NFRW. Today all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands have federated Republican women's clubs under the NFRW umbrella. Depending on the structure of the State regarding whether they have counties, like Washington State, or boroughs like some others, each county, borough or other state-wide division may have its own Republican women's club. Sometimes, due to logistics and population, there may be several local clubs located within a county or district, or several counties may band together and support one club in an agreed-upon location. A Republican women's club provides a safe venue where women of like-mind and political philosophy may meet and work together to further democracy and good government, with all the benefits and responsibilities they entail, throughout the United States of America.
