America 250 Young Conservative Women’s Scholarship
The Washington Federation of Republican Women (WFRW) honors the memory of our State Federation Founder, Della Urquhart. She was a visionary in 1934 when she organized a group of women in Yakima to form our first Republican Women’s club. Her political passion resulted in our State Federation becoming chartered in 1945 with the National Federation of Republican Women. Della was our first WFRW President from 1945-1953 and later served in Olympia. Her resolve to promote and carry forward conservative values and leadership epitomizes what it means to educate and empower Republican women in the political process.
Our scholarship of $1,500 is designed for conservative college undergraduate women who are currently majoring in political science, government, economics, business, journalism or education and are residents of Washington State. (While the applicant must be a Washington resident, they can attend an out-of-state college.) The scholarship is given to women who have successfully completed at least two years of college coursework and are U.S. Citizens. Scholarship winners may not re-apply.
ONLY COMPLETED APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.

Individual applications for 2026 must be submitted to the WFRW Scholarship Committee either online or by mail. The deadline is July 1, 2026. Manually submitted applications are to be sent to Dee Drewry, 250 Gage Blvd. #2122, Richland, WA 99352. The Committee will choose one application.
