Della Urquhart Memorial Scholarship
February 2023
WFRW's scholarship program is open for 2023. Do you have an undergraduate woman in your family or know of someone who would like to apply? Please share this opportunity with them.
The Washington Federation of Republican Women honors the memory of our State Federation Founder, Della Urquhart. She was a visionary in 1934 when she organized a group of women in Yakima to form our first Republican Women's club. Her political passion resulted in our State Federation becoming chartered in 1945 with the National Federation of Republican Women. Della was our first WFRW President from 1945-1953 and later served in Olympia. Her resolve to promote and carry forward conservative values and leadership epitomizes what it means to educate and empower Republican women in the political process.
Two annual scholarships of $1,000 each are designated for conservative college undergraduate women who are currently majoring in political science, government or economics and are residents of Washington State. The scholarship is given to women who have successfully completed at least two years of college coursework and are U. S. Citizens. Scholarship winners may not re-apply.
